Katherine Heigl admits that she grew up in a white bubble, and how this realization affected the way she cared for her adoptive, multiracial kids. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted her body didn't matter to her, however, after speaking to her adopted sister from South Korea about how society had treated them, she was aware of the stark differences their lives were. In my interview, I inquired of Meg what she thought of her treatment at public events, whether in the presence of or without parents, the treatment was very completely different. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" That made me realize that I had been so naive," Heigl said to parents. She said that she was frustrated and thought it was important to focus the anger she felt on the adopted children she has. Heigl has a four year old son and a 13-year-old husband, Josh Kelley. They took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion, in 2009.
