Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I worked for months, working 12- hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back and the others climbing in the playpen. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however it wasn't quite finished. It would take lots of time and money and shopping my favorite interiors to decorate this place. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. The weekly ritual was that we would go through estate and garage sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. My next task was to spend my weekdays painting and sanding outside in our driveway. It looked a bit similar to the following... Here is where my obsession with restoring antique furniture started. When our house was decorated, I couldn't give up! In the market in town, I rented a small space, and also sold objects. I eventually had numerous pieces that I did not know what to do and my storage space was a mess. My home was where I started hosting open houses where more than 1,000 people were able to come in and purchase any product they wanted from the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days is the result of this. The business I was running was growing, but my family was also growing. In some ways, I found the ideal balance between being a mum and starting my new venture. Growing Days just fit. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth child. This was an excellent direction for my business, however I was also in need of a vacation. I decided to stop doing work on my furniture for a while and be at home with the children. That was exactly what i wanted. After a few months that my phone began to ring. I was getting calls from people asking me for assistance with home improvements as well as interior design. They had mainly been to my home during open houses that were held for furniture. In the following time I began to take on customers in my own way. Soon I had several accounts and a home remodeling business. If you'd said to me that this company that I started would become an idea for a TV show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. As I reflect back, it makes me smile.
