Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci when she was just six years old. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. She won three golds in her first competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a communist countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all-round competitions. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals at her senior debut international competition that took place in 1975. It was the first time she participated as a senior. She was the first woman ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar.
